MotoGP Racer Chris Vermeulen is Appearing At Gold Coast Bike Expo

Ahead of the 2009 MotoGP World Championship, Suzuki is giving local fans a chance to catch up with Chris Vermeulen at the Australian Motorcycle Expo Gold Coast.

The Queenslander will be at the Suzuki stand on Friday 20 February, helping celebrate the opening night of the Gold Coast's inaugural Motorcycle Expo.

Vermeulen, entering his fourth full year of MotoGP competition with Suzuki, will be signing autographs between 6:00pm and 6:45pm.

His visit will come as preparations continue for the 2009 MotoGP season - which kicks off in April - with Vermeulen and team-mate Loris Capirossi aiming for a successful year on the Suzuki GSV-R.

In addition to the MotoGP star, two of Suzuki's leading local competitors will be on hand during the three-day event.

Pro Lites champion in last year's inaugural Australasian SuperX Championship, Team Shift Motul Suzuki young gun Matt Moss will also sign autographs on Friday night, following Vermeulen, from 7:00pm-8:00pm.

Suzuki's SuperX championship-winning RM-Z motocrossers will be on display, with Moss' RM-Z250 joined by the Suzuki RM-Z450 used by Team Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Chad Reed to dominate the 2008 season.

On Saturday, 21 February, local fans can meet dual New Zealand Superbike Champion Robbie Bugden, who will once again ride with Team Joe Rocket Suzuki in the upcoming Australian Superbike Championship.

Bugden will be at the Suzuki stand for two sessions, from 11:00am-12:00pm and 2:00pm-3:00pm.

The motorcycle Bugden will ride later this year, the all-new, 2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000 will headline Suzuki's impressive display of over 50 motorcycles on show at the Gold Coast Convention Centre on 20-22 February.

Set to arrive in the coming months, expo visitors will get a sneak peak of the ground-breaking new GSX-R1000 and the exciting new SFV650 Gladius, in addition to Suzuki's latest street bikes, cruisers, scooters, off-road motorcycles and ATVs.
